Gillian McLaren is an artist who loves transforming the world around her into art. She was born in Iroquois Falls Ontario and finds much of her inspiration from her Northern Ontario surroundings. Whether it be a beautiful sunset, the smell of a cedar tree, or the sweet morning call of a chickadee, all things natural and beautiful contribute to and are reflected in her work.
In 2009, she received her diploma in fine art and graphic design from George Brown College in Toronto. Since then she has been running Sweet Willow Paperie, an art & design company she created, where she focuses on graphic design projects, photography and fine art paintings.
As the sunlight glints off a rippling lake, and the wind whispers through the black spruce bows, it is here where she must begin to tell her story.
